View Full Version : New Versions
So what's the scoop on IGCMS?
One moment I hear a new version is coming out, and another I hear it's been merged/sold?
So is there a 2.0+ version coming out? I've heard that it should've been out a few months ago.
I know it might have been delayed, but I'm wondering where the ETA is at now? I'm thinking of using IGCMS 1.0 for the time being... but I don't want to be investing in something that might not go onwards in the future.
So what's exactly happening with this CMS?

Hi nitz,
Welcome.
Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you earlier.
There is a new version of iGamingCMS coming out really soon.
It's in the internal beta stage which means that we are finding bugs and fixing them of course.
Features from 2.0 are going to the 1.x series (1.6 and further to be specific)
So stay on the 1.x series. An upgrade will be available which means that you can take a look at 1.5 right now and 1.6 will continue on that.
The only thing I'm worried about is the system. It seems to young in development.
I'm just worried of installing it, as I am looking for something long term. So far 1.x series hasn't wowed me yet.
Major issues I have are ACP permissions... If I want a newsposter only.. I can't do that, instead I have to give them full access...
At the moment.. I'm still un sure of what system I am going to be using.
IGCMS looks good, but needs more work.
Is there anything you can tell me of the newest ones coming out.
I am planning to choose a system this week and PLAN to stick with it for awhile.
Therefore, I need to know what I am getting in the end.
I like php nuke, CCMS, as they have great ideas. I'm hoping IGCMS can take them into consideration.

We are still working on getting the wow effect. The thing is that iGaming is made for showing games. Other systems like nuke weren't made for showing games.
If you give it a little bit more time and help us a bit (maybe using your own templates) you can get that effect.

We haven't planned on getting the users being able to log in into the version that's coming right now. The reason is, that it needs to be done right and not in pure haste.
A lot of other new features are in iGamingCMS 1.6 though, so only the users being able to log in and some other small stuff will have to wait till iGamingCMS 1.7
At the moment.. I'm still unsure of what system I am going to be using.

We are working on getting the "needs more work" part done.
The thing is, that we are bugfixing this version right now. The users being able to log in will have to wait till next version.

I know it isn't much, but when the bugs are fixed we either release a public beta or the real new 1.6 version.
I am planning to choose a system this week and PLAN to stick with it for awhile.

For iGamingCMS 1.7:
- user login
- user rights and roles
- add to my games
- categorizing games (genres)
- news types

We will think about those ideas. phpnuke isn't a gaming CMS. CCMS isn't free.
(please contact me on PM about that subject)
We will take our own development path and listen to the feature requests.
