View Full Version : Suggestions for 2.x
Suggestions:
-Would you be able to make it so there is a login box for the public to register and post comments on news etc.?
(And have an option to make it linked to a SMF/PHPBB/vBulletin forum's login database)
-Have an option that registered members can submit their own games/reviews/cheats/downloads.
-Make a little 'who's online' statistics box
Sounds like alot, but if these things were added I would pay big time for it.
This would make it the best gaming CMS out there.

I have see the new version and it looks good, i would say that the register of user can be linked to forums sofwares like phpbb, etc, also that user can have a game collection and wishlist, also i would like to remove the Minimum System Requirements

I would love to see a book review module, and a DVD review module. That way you could link to reviews about books that spawned off from video games. Also you could link movies and video games to each other.
For example there are like 4 books based on Splinter Cell.
Splinter Cell (http://www.amazon.com/Clancys-Splinter-Cell-David-Michaels/dp/0425201686/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-1972340-5557522?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188873189&sr=1-1)
Splinter Cell: Checkmate (http://www.amazon.com/Tom-Clancys-Splinter-Cell-Checkmate/dp/0425212785/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/104-1972340-5557522?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188873189&sr=1-2)
Splinter Cell: Operation Barracuda (http://www.amazon.com/Tom-Clancys-Splinter-Cell-Operation/dp/0425204227/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/104-1972340-5557522?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188873189&sr=1-3)
Splinter Cell: Fallout (http://www.amazon.com/Tom-Clancys-Splinter-Cell-Fallout/dp/0425218244/ref=sr_1_4/104-1972340-5557522?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188873189&sr=1-4)
Then there are like all the video game movies, like the Tomb Raider series, DOA, all the Uwe Boll directed movies. That doesn't even include all the old video game cartoons coming out on DVD these days.
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (http://www.amazon.com/Super-Mario-Bros-Show/dp/B000BSZAG0/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b/104-1972340-5557522)
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Volume 2 (http://www.amazon.com/Super-Mario-Bros-Show-2/dp/B000H6SY2I/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b/104-1972340-5557522)
Then you have for example the Spiderman movies and video games, or all the Star Wars video games and movies. Just thought it would add some nice features to be able to link all this stuff to each other.
Sounds good. The login box is all I need to make my site complete at the moment.
1. Have a shoutbox on the right menu.
2. Along with cheats and downloads have a Videos section as well. You can get embed links and add them to the video page.
3. As well as Videos, have the Screenshots page linked to the games (like cheats and downloads)

It might also be nice to have a CD/Music module where you could review and link game soundtracks to the games themselves. Just an idea.

If your doing videos I recommend that you convert them to flash format. That way they just simply work in most, if not all, browsers. If you have people on Mac or Linux and you use Windows codec videos they may not be able to see them possibly.
Just a suggestion.

I doubt a shoutbox would be added because not only does it consume more server bandwidth and slow load times, but also because most sites do not need or want one.
Anywho, if you really wanted one, it wouldn't be that hard to install a separate shoutbox script and include it using either PHP or SSI.
True. With the videos and screenshot pages though, I reckon they're good idea.

First of all like i said this is the best free Gaming CMS ever.
Now here are some suggestions for 2x
1) Create a kinda user system so users can register and can add reviews, previews and stuff and they should not be published until a editor ( mod, admin ) reviews them and accepts them ( this is imp )
2)Can u create a bridge between iGamingCMS and maybe phpbb or something so that we can have a community also and one more thing if a user registers on the site he registers on the forums also if he logs in from the site he should be logged into the forums also please.
Please make these changes especially the first one i shall be grateful.
by the way when is 2x coming out i am waiting for that and not doing anything with my 1.5x for now since without user registering system i think it wont be of good use.
Thank you for providing such a great open source CMS

It's a feature request and let's put it in the requests for IGamingCMS 2.x ok.
A staff page & an affiliates page that shows the staff of the site & affiliates would be great!
Thanks in advance.

Hi all
I've merged all the posts with suggestions in them into this post.
I'll ask if we can make it a sticky, so it's more obvious to post suggestions in this thread.
